Its aim was to connect the university\u2019s research capacity with key sectors in the region, such as honey, grapes, olives and reineta apples.<\/p>\n<p>The event brought together researchers from the University of Le\u00f3n and representatives of the local business fabric in El Bierzo, with a view to fostering new partnerships focused on agri-food innovation, sustainability, and the transfer of knowledge to the region.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, several lines of work were explored, particularly those related to the sustainable use of agri-food products and by-products for the development of health-related applications. In this context, Noelia Fl\u00f3rez presented a number of research projects, including one focused on an olive-derived by-product with antimicrobial potential, which has resulted in an international patent.<\/p>\n<p>The organisers emphasised the initiative\u2019s long-term ambition and highlighted the importance of establishing the Ponferrada Campus as a benchmark in knowledge transfer.
