Our colleague N\u00e9stor participated in a webinar on Florence Nightingale on 12th<\/sup> May, the International Nurses Day. The Fundaci\u00f3n Index organised it and its aim was to uncover lesser-known aspects of the British nurse and the transfer of her actions and thinking to the current social scenarios, such as the coronavirus pandemic, the role of nurses today and in the future, and their social recognition. Previously, the four participants (Sonia Herrera, Elena Santain\u00e9s, Manuel Amezcua and N\u00e9stor Serrano) uploaded their presentations to YouTube and the Fundaci\u00f3n Index website. Subsequently, the meeting was held, a very dynamic and relevant colloquium, accompanied by the presence and reflections of people belonging to different parts of the world.<\/p>\n

N\u00e9stor: \u201cIf we look at things with perspective, our profession has come a long way since Nightingale’s time, I am sure she would be very proud. However, it is still not enough; a large part of society does not know what we do. Let’s continue working together in one direction; nurses have a lot to show always accompanied by knowledge and our love for caring for and improving people’s health\u201d.Below are the videos of his presentation and the colloquium of all the participants.<\/p>\n
