David Bermejo, member of SALBIS, organizes a edition of Pint of Science in Sahagún
On 20 May at 7:00 p.m., Bar El Metro in Sahagún will host a edition of Pint of Science, an international initiative that brings science closer to the public in everyday, informal settings such as bars and cafés.
The event is organized by David Bermejo, a member of the SALBIS research group at the University of León, and will feature several researchers from the institution, who will share current scientific topics with the public from an accessible, engaging and informative perspective.
Under the slogan “We fill the bars of Sahagún with science”, the event will include the following talks:
- “Should we buy organic food? Why?”, by Dr. Oliver Torres Reynoso, University of León.
- “The antibiotic hangover: misuse comes at a cost”, by Dr. Eva Milena Vázquez Acero, University of León.
- “Bacteria: how they learned to beat us at our own game”, by Dr. Beatriz Romero Gómez, University of León.
- “I walk, therefore I am”, by Dr. Bibiana Trevisson Redondo, University of León, Ponferrada Campus.
The activity is part of the Pint of Science 2026 festival, which aims to promote dialogue between the scientific community and society by taking knowledge beyond traditional academic spaces.
With this initiative, SALBIS strengthens its commitment to science communication, knowledge transfer and the promotion of activities that connect university, science and the public.
