Researchers from SALBIS Group bring science closer to pupils at Cacabelos
On 10 February, researchers from the Physiotherapy area and the SALBIS research group took part in an outreach activity at Virgen de la Quinta Angustia School in Cacabelos on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
During the event, the workshop “Bodies in Balance: Tensegrity Workshop” was held for fourth-grade primary school pupils. By building a tensegrity model, the children were able to understand in a practical way the interrelationship between all parts of the human body, a key concept in physiotherapy and in the lines of work developed at the Ponferrada Campus.
This initiative is part of the dissemination actions promoted by the Scientific Culture Unit of the Vice-Rectorate for Research of the University of León, aimed at fostering scientific vocations and highlighting the role of women researchers in the field of health.
