David Bermejo Participates in the Local Phase of the “Three Minute Thesis (3MT)” Competition at the University of León
David Bermejo Martínez, professor and researcher in the Department of Nursing and Physiotherapy and member of the SALBIS Research Group, participated in the local phase of the international “Three Minute Thesis (3MT)” competition, organized by the University of León on May 20th.
This competition challenges PhD students to explain their doctoral research in just three minutes, using language accessible to the general public and supported by only one static slide.
David delivered a warm, original, and engaging presentation focused on the relationship between public health, risk practices, and substance use in LGTBIQ+ contexts—a topic that reflects his research interests in the social determinants of health, community nursing, and critical approaches to sociosanitary research.
The contest brought together around ten participants from various scientific disciplines and was highly appreciated by both the jury and the audience, creating an atmosphere of scientific outreach, young talent, and academic creativity.
At SALBIS, we warmly congratulate David for his involvement in scientific communication initiatives that help bring academic knowledge closer to society in a clear, direct, and impactful way.
