Exploring the World of Food Additives
The SALBIS research group participated in Expociencia with the activity “Journey into the Secret World of Food Additives,” aimed at students from various schools in the municipality.
The workshop, developed by the NutriSapientia group (composed of students in the Human Nutrition and Dietetics program at the University of León), offered a dynamic and participatory experience focused on understanding food additives and demonstrating how they work in a visual and entertaining way for the children.
Through various experiments, participants overcame challenges and recorded their progress in a “space passport” that, once completed, earned them a small gift.
The activity was very well received, with dozens of students enjoying a fun, responsible, and age-appropriate learning experience.
This workshop is part of the science outreach initiatives developed by researchers Natalia Calvo and Gema Serrano of the SALBIS group and was made possible thanks to Nutrisapientia, with whom it is always a pleasure to work.
